Catherine Cornwell wills her estate to her "true and trusty friend," Scipio Fayrweather, and to her children Juby, Cornwell, Rose, Catherine, and Margreet, 8 February 1752.  The will is signed with her "mark," a symbol commonly used by the illiterate in lieu of a signature.  Cornwell, a free Black woman living in Boston, married Fayrweather on 28 August 1754.
